GROW+ Project

Strengthening Organisations, Communities and Women

Launched in February 2026 with support from the EdelGive Foundation, the GROW+ Project focuses on strengthening NGO capacities while promoting community engagement and women's empowerment. Awareness sessions across Jodhpur and Udaipur address gender equality, women's rights, girls' education, health and social inclusion. The project also undertakes focused outreach with women sex workers on legal rights, healthcare access and protection from violence. Key areas of work include organisational development, finance and HR systems, technology, team capacity building and stronger grassroots engagement across Western Rajasthan.

Supporting Women Through Crisis and Towards Justice

Since 2001, Meera Sansthan has provided family counselling services through the Women's Police Station, Jodhpur. Since February 2011, the organisation has operated Women Protection & Counselling Centres under the Government of Rajasthan's Women Protection & Counseling Centre Grant Scheme, 2010. Today, three centres are being operated at police stations, providing counselling, legal guidance, emotional support, crisis intervention and referrals to women experiencing violence, harassment, exploitation and family disputes. The centres have resolved 6,564 cases through counselling, mediation and amicable settlement, while supporting 1,282 women in filing FIRs under Section 498A IPC and other applicable provisions.

Girls Education Programme

Creating Pathways to Education & Eliminating Child Marriage

Meera Sansthan worked to bring girls who were out of school into the formal education system while creating supportive learning environments within rural communities. The programme enrolled 800 girls into formal schools, covering 13 villages and 11 schools, thereby expanding educational opportunities for adolescent girls and preventing early child marriage.

HIV Prevention, Community Health & Social Inclusion

Since 2009, Meera Sansthan has implemented the Targeted Intervention Project in Udaipur District to improve access to health services and reduce HIV-related risks among vulnerable communities. The programme combines grassroots outreach, counselling, healthcare linkages, HIV testing, STI management, condom promotion and advocacy. It reaches MSM, FSW, TG and LBT communities and has reached 2,687+ community members, while linking people living with HIV to ART Centres.

Leather Cluster Development Programme

Strengthening Traditional Artisan Livelihoods

Since 2007, Meera Sansthan has worked to strengthen the livelihoods of traditional leather artisans through skill development, design innovation, product diversification, market access, financial inclusion and institutional development. The programme formed 32 Self-Help Groups benefiting 489 artisans, trained 349 artisans, supported access to bank credit for 148 artisans and enabled participation in national fairs and exhibitions. Artisans generated more than ₹38 lakh in direct sales and ₹47 lakh in business orders through supported market linkages.

Anganwadi Capacity Building Programme (AWTC)

Strengthening Early Childhood Development Systems

Recognising the vital role of Anganwadi workers in early childhood development, maternal health and nutrition, Meera Sansthan has undertaken extensive capacity-building initiatives for Anganwadi Workers, Helpers and Supervisors. Training programmes have focused on child nutrition, growth monitoring, maternal health, community mobilisation and effective delivery of frontline services. The initiative has conducted 1,167 training programmes and trained over 12,000 Anganwadi Workers, strengthening Anganwadi systems across Western Rajasthan and covering more than 800 villages.

Relief & Humanitarian Assistance Programme

Reaching Communities During Crisis

Meera Sansthan has consistently responded to communities affected by drought, economic hardship and other emergencies. Through community-based relief mechanisms, the organisation has provided essential food grains, medicines, blankets and other emergency supplies to vulnerable households, helping communities navigate periods of severe distress. The programme has reached 165 villages across Jodhpur district, strengthening community resilience and ensuring timely assistance to families in need.

Family Welfare & Reproductive Health Initiative

Promoting Informed Choices and Healthy Families

The initiative focuses on strengthening awareness around reproductive health, family planning and maternal well-being. Through counselling and community-based awareness activities, couples are supported in making informed decisions regarding family welfare and reproductive health. The programme has counselled 1,726 couples, contributing to greater awareness and responsible decision-making.

Social Assessment & Community Mapping

Understanding Communities to Build Better Interventions

Supported by UNICEF, this initiative focused on understanding the socio-economic realities and development needs of communities in Barmer and Jaisalmer. By assessing 220 Anganwadi Centre catchment areas, the project generated evidence to identify priority needs and support more informed programme planning and policy advocacy.

Red Ribbon & Environmental Awareness Programme

Building Healthy and Environmentally Conscious Communities

Through schools and community institutions, this programme combined health awareness with environmental consciousness. Activities included awareness campaigns, plantation initiatives and efforts to build scientific understanding of soil and water resources. The programme was implemented across 12 schools, encouraging young people and communities to engage with both health and environmental concerns.

Lok Jumbish Community Education Programme

Making Education Accessible to Every Child

The Lok Jumbish initiative focused on improving access to education in remote rural communities through stronger educational infrastructure and active community participation. The programme mobilised 49 villages and operated 15 schools, while also supporting the construction of school buildings, water tanks and sanitation facilities.

Balwadi Early Childhood Education Programme

Investing in the Foundation Years

The Balwadi programme created safe and supportive learning environments for young children from marginalised families. Alongside early childhood education, the programme incorporated nutrition support and holistic child development, helping children build the foundations required for successful entry into formal schooling. The initiative operated 55 Balwadi Centres and benefited 3,175 children.

Reproductive & Child Health Programme (INHP)

Improving Maternal and Child Health

This programme strengthened community awareness and support around safe motherhood, child health and preventive healthcare. It reached 2,123 couples, trained 35 traditional birth attendants and covered 16 villages, contributing to stronger community-level health awareness and practices.

Aadhar Family Counselling Centre

Supporting Families Through Crisis

The Aadhar Family Counselling Centre provides psychosocial support, conflict resolution, legal guidance and rehabilitation services to vulnerable women and families. By helping individuals navigate family disputes, distress and violence, the Centre works towards safer and more sustainable outcomes. It has assisted 224 families and facilitated 24 successful settlements.

Janshalla Community Literacy Programme

Bringing Education to Marginalised Urban Communities

The Janshalla programme established community-based educational centres within urban settlements, creating opportunities for children who might otherwise remain outside the education system. The initiative covered 16 schools in urban settlements and mainstreamed 1,300 children into education.

Integrated Nutrition Programme

Combating Malnutrition Through Community Action

Working with mothers, Anganwadi Centres and community volunteers, the Integrated Nutrition Programme addresses child malnutrition through awareness, training and community participation. The programme developed 18 model Anganwadi Centres, trained 54 master trainers and established a network of 36 nutrition volunteers.

Adolescent Girls Empowerment Programme

Building Confidence, Leadership and Life Skills

The programme focuses on strengthening the capabilities of adolescent girls through leadership development, health awareness, life-skills education and confidence building. It conducted 53 capacity-building camps and trained 2,080 frontline functionaries, strengthening the support systems available to adolescent girls.

Residential Learning Camp for Girls

Creating Second Chances Through Education

The programme provides educational opportunities to girls who have dropped out of school or never had the opportunity to attend. Through residential learning camps, girls are supported in returning to formal education and reconnecting with mainstream schooling. 72 girls received education through residential camps, 46 were re-enrolled in schools and 32 out-of-school girls were mainstreamed into education.

We Can Campaign Against Domestic Violence

Mobilising Communities for Gender Justice

EMEP: Prevention of Early Marriage & Early Pregnancy

Protecting the Rights of Women and Girls

The EMEP programme works with communities on issues including child marriage, adolescent health and reproductive rights. Through community engagement and advocacy, the programme covered 21 villages, prevented 7 child marriages, addressed 15 harmful social practice cases and intervened in 27 early pregnancy cases.

Promoting Awareness, Prevention and Inclusion

The initiative works to improve awareness around HIV/AIDS, encourage preventive practices and reduce stigma through youth engagement and community outreach. Strengthening Community-Based Nutrition Systems
